Minutus

Latin term for a monk who had been bled, something which was done regularly. The minutus was permitted to rest in the infirmary for two or three days, where there was both warmth and better food, i.e. meat. [< Lat. minutus = diminished, decreased < Lat. minuo = to lessen] -
